This week, Earth will experience the passage of an asteroid of skyscraper-like proportions, although there is no actual danger to our planet.

The asteroid in question, named Asteroid 1994 XD, was first identified by the Spacewatch group at Kitt Peak Observatory in Arizona back in 1994, BGR reported.

On Monday, June 12, at approximately 9:00 pm ET, Asteroid 1994 XD is projected to come within a distance of 1.8 million miles from Earth.
