It’s been a great, improbable run to the final for Muchova. She came back from match point down at 2-5 in the third to beat Aryna Sabalenka, one of the best players in the world. She took out World No. 8 Maria Sakkari in the first round. She’s playing some splendid tennis and dictating from the back of the court.
With that being said, she’s about to face a much more difficult opponent than she’s faced all tournament. Iga Swiatek is making quick work of just about everyone right now, and despite an incredible push from Beatriz Haddad Maia, managed to come through her sixth straight match without dropping a set.
Muchova lacks the weapons of Swiatek and certainly won’t win this match. Prediction: Swiatek moneyline (-900 at DraftKings)
Iga Swiatek vs Karolina Muchova best bet
These two have met twice in their careers, and both were more than two years ago. They were at exhibition events, and Muchova took both in three sets.
While this doesn’t mean that Muchova will be victorious, or even close to victory, it does mean that she’s very familiar with Swiatek’s game. Having the experience of facing the World No. 1 in the past should help her to at least make this a match.
Swiatek had to save an incredible amount of break points in her win over Haddad Maia and has lost two finals already this clay season. Muchova is solid enough from the back of the court to hold serve and eventually cash this over. Best bet: Over 18.5 (-135 at DraftKings)
