The movie franchise responsible for giving an entire generation ADHD is back! But this time the robots are animals for some reason. That’s cool and all, but wouldn’t this have been the perfect time to stop bringing human being main characters into the mix? If suddenly there’s going to be a dozen new beast MAXIMAL characters, let’s just focus on developing them so there’s something new and interesting to follow. This movie is about their rise, is it not? But no, we gotta keep doing that thing where some down-on-their-luck human discovers that his or her car is actually an alien robot and is then tasked with seeking out some sacred machine part or else the world will end. Been there, done that. How giant robots punching each other can be so sleep-inducing, I’ll never know. Maybe I forgot to take my adderall before this one…
