Lightning vs Gripen: Thailand wants F-35s but may get JAS 39 Gripens instead

Thailand's request for F-35 Lightnings has been unofficially denied - instead the US counter offered with a package of F-15 EX (Eagle II) and F-16 Block 70 Vipers. Saab may also be in talks to offer the JAS 39E Gripen.
