Honduras applies to join BRICS Bank to open up ‘alternative economic direction’

The Honduran president met with the president of the BRICS New Development Bank in Shanghai, as, according to an official statement, the country has also applied to join the institution. This comes shortly after Honduras opened an embassy in China, months after severing relations with Taiwan in favor of ties with Beijing.
