President Michel Micombero of Burundi arrived in Uganda ... for a three-day State visit. He was met at Entebbe International Airport by his host, President Idi Amin, and a large group of Ugandan dignitaries.

President Micombero travelled with his wife and a 40-member delegation, including his Foreign, Communications, Public Works and transport Ministers. The President had just completed a visit to Zaire for talks on the border dispute between his country, Tanzania and Rwanda. President Mobutu of Zaire has acted as a mediator in the dispute.

During his stay in Uganda, President Micombero went to the Kenya border with his host, and pledged to help liberate the rest of Africa "from the claws of imperialists." He also had talks with General Hussein Kulmie Afrah, a Vice-President and Secretary of State for the Interior in Somalia, who was visiting Uganda at the same time.
