If you've ever read the 50th Law, a collaboration between author Robert Greene and rapper 50¢, you will comprehend that power is power and the techniques of power are inherent. They are more subtle in the political-corporate sphere, more pragmatic in organized crime circles and more primal on the urban streets of America. You can neither reason with a headless man, a tranq-zombie nor a street hood determined to get what he wants or needs. You must recognize the threat and avoid it.
This is the state of America's urban jungles and it's nothing new. What's changed between now & the days I lived and worked here is that there's less protection. Accepting this will either keep you inside or heighten your senses and increase your grit when you must go out into it's streets.
I'm not gangster tough, I'm more resistant tough, like burlap... Or so I believe.
A lot of people in this area are cool and they let you know it in a recognizable way, if you're from here. You holler back. There's an embedded code that you don't know you know until you step away for awhile and return.
