If you already know how to run Gold Glitchless, this video is almost redundant. Major takeaways: 10DV ATK, 6DV SPC are bare minimum, and no need to catch early game HM helper for Cut. Also no extra EXP needed.

I had a head theory that had the Lake of Rage Gyarados not been hardlocked at being shiny, it would be quite likely speedruns of Pokemon Gold/Silver would primarily use Gyarados.
So, I decided to start doing segmented speedruns of the game with the Red Gyarados as the main battler to test. After a playthrough, I realized that this was the alt main I was looking for: it was genuinely fun.
After a few more runs, I decided to codify the route I was doing so others could run it too. I saw it having potential to be a highly viable alt main speedrun, with one caveat at the very end of the game.
This video series is meant to supplement the guide.

Playing on JPN version as that is the game collection I chose to build up.
