Connecticut's New Gun Control Law: What Does it Do?

Governor Lamont of Connecticut recently signed new gun control legislation into law, which includes a slew of gun control proposals in the already restrictive state. Connecticut already had an assault weapons ban, magazine capacity limits, and universal background checks, but that was apparently not enough to stop gun violence, even though these are the main provisions that gun control advocates always say are necessary to end gun violence. The new law restricts how often you can purchase pistols, creates harsher penalties for various violations, bans open carry, and various other changes to the already extensive and oppressive anti-gun laws.
