The Army and Marines were America's two main ground combat organizations, who played a huge role in the prewar era both on the battlefield and domestically. Both strove for excellence, with unmatched combat prowess on the battlefield thanks to their use of cutting-edge technology; however, it was this drive for innovation that first allowed the corrupt and inhumane corporate world to conduct highly unethical experiments in the name of progress, that then doomed the post war world to suffer the fallout of these ruinous experiments.
