Rep. Jim Banks exposed the Biden administration’s willful disregard for child labor in the country. During a hearing, Banks held Acting Labor Secretary Julie Su accountable for the illegal immigrant child labor crisis, emphasizing the administration’s inaction and neglect. The hearing exposed the administration's failures to combat exploitation of innocent children forced into perilous jobs. Banks quoted a New York Times investigation that exposed thousands of children to grueling work and questioned Su’s inaction regarding it. Banks also highlighted the inaction of Su's department to contact the illegal migrant children's parents involved in exploitative industries. Rep. Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin echoed Banks’ concerns. The neglect of child labor laws demands urgent action and accountability from the government.
