Appalachian Trail Day 10 Boots Off Hostel To Iron Mountain Shelter 16.0 Miles

Day 10 hike started at Boots Off Hostel and wound around Watauga Lake and over the earthen dam for some spectacular views. It was built in 1948 and is the highest reservoir in the Tennessee River System. This 16 mile hike ended at Iron Mountain Shelter where I stayed in the shelter instead of setting up my tent.
