There is a process to ratify new amendments to the Constitution of the United States: but what is it? How does it work? How does it look? Broadly, it works in three stages: step 1 to call the convention; step 2 hold the convention; and step 3 to ratify the new proposed amendment that comes out of the convention. But what are the details? Congress including both the senate and the house need two thirds to call for the convention OR two thirds (66%) of the state legislatures (34 states) need to call for it. The convention itself has no strict rules about how it is to run, function, or who can or cannot represent states or interests: complete free-for-all. Then three fourths (75%) of the state legislatures (38 states) need to ratify the new amendment.

With a radical new anti-self-defense 28th amendment proposed by California Governor and presidential hopeful Gavin Newsom, we take a look at not only the constitutional process but what the odds specifically look like for it to work and destroy the 2nd amendment and gun rights across America.
