Conscience is God-given No Hypocrisy When Teaching and Preaching God’s Word Simple life of Integrity

Good morning. Great is His faithfulness.

Hebrew word of the day- צָנַע tsânaʻ, tsaw-nah'; a primitive root; to humiliate:—humbly, lowly.

Mic 6:8

He has shown you, O man, what is good;

And what does the LORD require of you

But to do justly,

To love mercy,

And to walk humbly with your God?

Romans 2:14-28- "The Law written in their hearts"

vv. 14-16: "THE LAW WRITTEN IN THEIR HEARTS" (v. 16) is referring to a person's conscience. Our conscience is God- Given, and it has the same power to lead a person to God as the law does. According to St. John Chrysostom- those who are able to follow their own consciences to God are more virtuous than those with the law, for they do not have the advantage of concrete instructions yet still desire to please and follow God.

vv. 17-24- This passage is referring to the many Jews who relied on knowing "THE LAW" for their righteousness, but in fact they did not obey it. Just because someone knows the law does not make one "A GUIDE TO THE BLIND" (v. 19)- it is better to keep the spirit and the heart of the law that makes one a guide to others.

"Those who teach and preach the Word of God must do so without hypocrisy, and must have a pure heart and a true relationship with our Father in heaven."

Romans 1:7-12- "Paul is a Good Shepherd"

vv. 8-12: Here in this passage, we see the pastoral concern he has for the Roman Christians even though he was not the founder of the Church in Rome. We see how St. Paul thanks "GOD" for them (v. 8), pray "ALWAYS" for them daily -(v. 9), and longs to "SEE" them - (v. 11).

Matthew 5:33-48- "Live a Simple Life of Integrity"

vv. 34-37: This passage is telling us that trust is not secured by swearing oaths, but instead we need to live by simple integrity- Let our "YES" be yes, and let our "NO" be no, and anything else is from the evil one.

vv. 39-42:- Jesus is telling us "NOT TO RESIST" violence with adding more violence, this is in contrast with the OT- ( Exodus 21:24- Lv 24:20- and Deuteronomy 19:21)- "EVIL" is only overcomed by good and not rendering evil for evil.

"A saint from the desert once found his hut being looted of its paltry possessions, and he knelt in the corner praying for the bandits. When they left, the monk realized they had not taken his walking stick. This monk pursued them for many days until he was able to give them the stick as well. Seeing his humility, the bandits returned everything to him and were converted to Jesus Christ."

"We draw closer to God through "DEIFICATION" - by imitating His love and mercy to all even our enemies, it's a beautiful thing to walk in step with our Creator."

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
