Fish with wings: The flying gurnard

This fish with wings is called the flying gurnard, also known as the helmet gurnard. The fish has large eyes and reaches a length of up to 50 cm (20 in) and a weight of 1.8 kg (4.0 lb). It spreads its "wings" to threaten potential enemies or just to move. The video was shot in Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, but the flying gurnard can also be found in other waters such as the Caribbean or the Mediterranean.
