So ducking sad! Rubber toy deflates in Hong Kong harbour

The yellow rubber duck, which made its first appearance in Hong Kong ten years ago, was welcomed back to Victoria Harbor on Friday. This time it brought a friend along because, as the artist behind the project has explained, ‘Double duck is double luck’.

However, the next morning there was again only one. The other 18-meter-high duck had deflated, turning the duo into solo. The organisers said they had decided to let the air out of one of the birds due to due to safety concerns amid high summer temperatures.

The remaining duck in the harbour seems quite okay. We just hope that rubber ducks don’t get as attached to each other as swans do.
