DJ Battlecat drops some game about the mentality required to be the best producer possible for any artist you work with.
Battlecat started his career as a battle DJ, standing out for his participation in the 1990 DMC US Mixing Finals and the 1988 New Music Seminar DJ Battle for World Supremacy, both held in New York City. He is also known for producing a number of West Coast rappers, including Snoop Dogg, Tupac Shakur, The Game, Xzibit, and Tha Eastsidaz. His style is an evolution of the '90s G-Funk sound popularized by Above the Law and Dr. Dre, which featured soulful keys and thick synth bass lines. He also serves as Snoop Dogg's concert DJ. Battlecat created a special song in 2009 called "A Soldier Never Dies" in honor of Marine Anthony Vargas, who had died in combat. Battlecat is a DJ who belongs to The Core DJs, a group that represents DJs worldwide. Don Le and Paolo Ongkeko, respectively, produced and directed the music video. Sonny Ayon played one of the main characters in the video.
