The Okuma Longitude Surf Graphite Rods are a great value for their price range. I purchased the 9ft heavy action rod and I am extremely pleased with its performance.
The through action is smooth and it offers the perfect amount of power for casting heavier weights. Even with heavier weights, the rod remains sensitive enough to detect even the softest of bites.
I highly recommend this rod to anyone looking for a new surf rod for their fishing adventures. I was able to land two stripped bass and a 20lbs+ catfish with the 10ft version of this rod.
The quality of the Okuma Longitude Surf Graphite Rod is impressive. While I cannot speak to its durability just yet, I feel confident in its ability to withstand the wear and tear of surf fishing.
I have paired my rod with a Penn Pursuit II 6500 and it casts with ease and has exceptional strength. I fish at least three times a week and have had great success with this rod.
I particularly like the way it feels in my hand during long fishing sessions. The only downside I experienced was not being able to fish with it right away as it broke upon my first cast.
However, I do not blame Okuma for this and believe it was due to improper shipping and handling. For the money, I believe this rod is the best on the market.
Just recently, I was able to easily catch a 44.54 pound catfish using this rod, proving its capability and strength. I highly recommend the Okuma Longitude Surf Graphite Rods, as they are versatile, durable and affordable.
