Today we are in Lesson-04 in the series “Living Hope” from the book of I Peter.

This study is part I of our series: “Strangers and Pilgrims” which covers I and II Peter.

The lesson is titled “Living Stones – Part II” and our focus passage is I Peter 2:11-25.

Please find your way in your Bible to that passage.

In our previous episode, we began our study of I Peter 2.

In that lesson, we saw how in contrast with inert, dead, monumental stones, Peter referred to his audience, to Christians, as living stones that live to proclaim God’s excellence.

He also referred to Jesus Christ as the Choice Living Stone. The Cornerstone.

We learned that as believers, we can safely put all our trust in this precious, choice stone (cf. Rom. 9:33; 10:11).

In today’s lesson we conclude our study of I Peter 2.

As we learned from v9-10, believers are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and a people for God’s own possession.

Because of that reality, there are implications for Christians as to how we should live in this world that is not our home.

Today we will focus on our second division, “Excellent Stones” from verses v11-20 and our third division “Enduring Stones” from v21-25.

Let’s get started.
