Army Airborne disabled veteran. Joined at age 18, in 1983. Cold War warrior. Served as paratrooper in airborne long range reconnaissance unit, tasked with jumping into Afghanistan if we went to "hot" war with Soviets there. Suffered compression fracture of spine during rough terrain parachute training (jumping into trees on purpose - same technique as elite smoke jumper firefighters use, but Army had us do it at night, which led to injuries). Fused spine with steel rods in back holding it all together.

Nevada state certified professional security and concealed carry firearms instructor and gun rights activist after Army. Volunteer self defense instructor at UNLV during college.

VA vocational rehabilitation program paid for college. Graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1998.

Worked on Washington DC staff of Congressman Ron Paul 1998-99.

Oath Keepers a nonprofit association of 40,000 current and former police, military, firefighters, EMS, search and rescue, etc (the sheepdogs who run toward danger while others run away).

30% of members are police.

mission: to keep the oath we all swore to defend the constitution.

Catalyst: the egregious unconstitutional mass gun confiscation in New Orleans during hurricane Katrina. Sadly, police and national guard from all over the nation, who came to help, ended up obeying unlawful order to disarm peaceable local residents who were just defending themselves and their homes from predatory criminals and looters. A court later found the gun confiscation order to be unconstitutional, but it would have been better for the police and guardsmen to refuse the unlawful orders at inception.

Leftists media and NGOs immediately smeared and defamed Oath Keepers for daring to teach police and military about their clear duty to refuse to obey unlawful orders. With Obama in the White House, they demanded blind obedience and were apoplectic that we dared to repeat what the Nuremberg tribunal told the Nazis - "just following orders" is no defense.

In addition to educational mission (reach, teach,and inspire, outreach to current serving) Oath Keepers also did:

Volunteer security, starting with Ferguson, Missouri where we successfully protected a whole block of shops and apartments (above the shops) from rioters and arsonists who swore they would burn them all down. First "client" was black Lady who owned bakery (Natalie's Cakes a More). Buildings all around us were burned to the ground, but not that block.

During Trump administration, from his inauguration on Jan 20, 2017 on, Oath Keepers successfully protected Trump supporters from Antifa and BLM violence at hundreds of events nationwide, including Berkeley, CA (twice), Portland, OR, Boston, MA, nine times in Washington DC, Dallas, TX, and outside 12 Trump Campaign rallies, including Minneapolis, MN). Not one person we protected has ever been assaulted or injured. A 100% success record nationwide And not one member of Antifa or BLM has ever been injured either. Zero use of force incidents. We deter by our presence. Antifa and BLM do not engage with us. And we don't seek physical conflict (unlike Proud Boys, who actively seek to street fight with leftists) Our ethos is "quiet professionals" and our M.O. is calm deterrence.

Natural disaster relief. 14 major hurricane relief missions, including Hurricane Harvey and Puerto Rico, conducting search and rescue, delivering relief supplies, medical aid, and deterring looting.

Jan 6:

Oath Keepers did security at major Trump rallies in DC in November and December, protecting events, speakers, and attendees (escorting elderly, women, families with children - the vulnerable Antifa likes to target) back to their hotel, vehicle, or Metro stop. Helped protect General Michael Flynn in streets of DC.

JAN 5/6 were doing the same. Tasked with protecting two permitted events on capitol grounds

1. Ali Alexander's even in Area 8 on NE corner of US capitol lawn.

2. Latinos for Trump rally in Area 7, in lower Senate Park

Oath Keepers was also tasked with multiple Personal Security Detail (PSD) escort missions that day.

1 A PSD for Roger Stone (for both Jan 5 and 6). On J-6, that team was to escort Roger Stone from his hotel, to President Trump's rally, and then to the Capitol grounds to area 8 at the NE corner (Ali Alexander's rally) where Stone was scheduled to be the keynote speaker. MTG and other members of Congress were also to speak there. Oath Keepers Alabama chapter leader Josh James (Army infantry Iraq combat veteran) led that team.

2. PSD for Ali Alexander's speakers and VIP guests, including congressional staff, to escort them from President Trump's rally to Ali Alexander's Capitol grounds event in area 8. This team was headed up by FL Oath Keepers leader Kelly Meggs and Army veteran Kenny Harrelson. Both men had protected Roger Stone in FL.

3. PSD for Ali Alexander himself (retired police officer and trained executive protection expert Jeff Morelock).

4. PSD for Latinos for Trump founder Bianca Gracia. SC Oath Keepers team provided this service once the Latino's for Trump rally ended around 2pm. That team also helped secure that event along with Oath Keepers from other States.

There were many other Oath Keepers in DC that day, (a total of approximately 100) tasked with our standard escort mission of protecting vulnerable Trump supporters as they returned to their hotels, cars, metro stops, etc.

I never entered the capitol, nor instructed anyone else to enter.

Unfortunately, two of our teams did enter, on their own and without my knowledge. The team led by Kelly Meggs escorted their protectees to the capitol, and then walked up the steps on the East side to link up with two team members who had gotten separated (I learned all this after).

They were standing at the top steps on the East side (the side opposite all the chaos) singing patriotic songs, when the doors opened (,,opened by someone inside) and they were swept in by the massive crowd (so they later said).

Once inside they wandered around and took selfies and then helped police. They stepped in between Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn and an angry group of Trump supporters. Dunn was holding his M-4 rifle in a low ready position and looked extremely agitated and ready to fire. So Meggs' team stepped in between and deescalated the situation, facing the Trump supporters, hands out in front of them in a "stop" gesture, with their backs to Dunn. Some of this is on video. Dunn's initial FBI 302 statement acknowledged the Oath Keepers stood between him and the Trump supporters, and he admitted he feared for his life that day.

A our trial (coached by the prosecutors) officer Dunn sang a different tune, denying the Oath Keepers did what they did.

Then, on the way out of the building, Meggs(who is 6'5") is on video HELPING a police officer usher Trump supporters out of the capitol.

I did not know they had gone inside until later, when they finally linked up with me and told me they had gone inside. My immediate response o this news was "that was pretty stupid".

Two witnesses at trial estified to that statement by me, including one of the witnesses for the prosecution.

It WAS stupid for them to enter, because it made it easy for our political enemies to persecute us, but I don't think it was a crime except for possibly misdemeanor trespass. And even for trespass, they walked in through doors opened from the inside by others, and they walked past police who were fist-bumping Trump supporters as they entered, and none of the police told them they were trespassing or that they had to leave.

All the above is really background info.

The real point I want to get across is that political free speech, dissent, and political opposition is being criminalized. I am being imprisoned for 18 years for my free speech.

As I said at my sentencing, I am a political prisoner, and like President Trump, my only crime is opposing those who are destroying our country.

At my sentencing the judge ticked off my accomplishments:

Yale Law graduate
Clerk for Arizona Supreme Court
Military service
Founding of Oath Keepers

Then he declared:

"It is clear that for decades you have wanted the Democracy to devolve.". (Clearly focused on my political speech - I am a Christian conservative and constitutionalist. A strict construction originalist like Scalia or Clarence Thomas, I oppose Marxism and globalist power grabs, and I oppose the metastasizing cancer of the deep state. And that is apparently what he likes to call " democracy"

He then said i am dangerous because I am:

Smart
Charismatic
A compelling figure.

"That's what makes you dangerous, even while incarcerated"

He then quoted me from a recent interview,:

"2020 election not just stolen, but grossly unconstitutional."

Again, political speech. And plain truth. It violated state election laws in critical swing states, which violated Article II, which mandates that the state legislatures alone determine the manner of selecting electors.

"We just cannot have that in this country" (my speech).
