It's NOT a BrickHeadz: that's the message behind this Creation, announcing the reclamation of my small-scale, brick-built figure concept. It's my wheelhouse, and I have to defend it.

BACKGROUND
Mascoteers was a figure concept born in 2015, as a backup plan for my spot at BRICK 2015. It worked surprisingly well, and it grew into an ever-expanding series following a great reception at the event.

LEGO launched their BrickHeadz theme (based on another person's designs) the following year, and unfortunately it led to disrespect from many in the LEGO space: through calling my Mascoteers theme "BrickHeadz". It was also considered funny that I wasn't acknowledged or credited whatsoever. Those events highly contributed to my separation from the LEGO space in general.

The Mascoteers concept was revived as an active project earlier this year, with an opportunity (and perhaps a request) to display them at the Doncaster Brick Festival. This marked the first time they were on display in the UK since 2019.

I wish to point out that any animosity is directed toward those who have shown disrespect, and not at LEGO themselves. I don't agree with many of the company's practices, but the fault lies with the so-called fans for excusing them.
