When you find the pool you get to name it. So I did, welcome to the Vato Bowl, an amoeba shaped abandoned empty swimming pool I found while searching for skate spots in the area. It was next to train tracks and had never been skated before. Covered with a thick layer of dust. We had to clean it up before skating and there was a bunch of debris and broken glass embedded into dried material on the crusty surface. A lot of those places were getting torn down and I think this is one of them so it was nice to go in there and document some history before the bulldozers come in and remove that place from the maps and the history books. This is the only time we skated this pool because it was really not that good and there’s so many other pools around that it was really not worth coming back to, but it was definitely fun to skate and I’m glad to get those rides in.
