Human Smuggler Arrested after High-Speed Pursuit in Webb County

A smuggler is facing charges after leading DPS Troopers on a high-speed vehicle pursuit in Webb County. The driver of Laredo, drove through several neighborhoods and allowed six illegal immigrants to bail out on numerous locations along the way.

They eventually crashed, and the driver and passenger fled on foot. Both were apprehended. The driver is facing charges of evading and smuggling of persons. The passenger is facing charges of evading arrest and possession of marijuana. Two illegal immigrants were apprehended and referred to Border Patrol.
