The Flat Earther says the sun is a near-Earth object that is always in the sky. Sunsets are an optical illusion resulting from the sun moving so far away that you just can't see it any more and it appears to approach the horizon the further away it gets. Eventually, it is so far away that the sunlight no longer reaches us, so it gets dark.

The Glober says the Earth is spinning on its axis, and the sun really is moving below the horizon. Eventually it is far enough below the curvature that you no longer see sunlight until the next morning.

Still with me?

Flat Earthers: If the sun has just "set" (optical illusion) and you can no longer see it, then you should be able to zoom it back into view, at least for a few minutes, correct? But you can't do that. Once the sun has set, it's gone. Then it gets dark, and the next morning, it is back.

If that's what you believe, then the sun is just gone once it has disappeared from view. It's so far away at that point, right? Nothing brings it back into view.

If what I have said is true, then explain how a drone that flies straight up 100-150 feet -- immediately following the sun disappearing below the horizon -- brings the sun back into view. It is NOT so far away that you can't see it like you say... because there it is again in all its glory.

I'm sorry but IMO, this is game, set, match if you can't explain this. That sun is still there after a sunset, and is just below the curvature, because you can go to higher ground and see it again. That cannot happen in your flat Earth, local sun theory. When it sets, it is so far away that you can no longer see it.

But it IS still there, as shown in this video...
