Wynonna and Naomi - The Judds. Some of their love tunes.
The Judds were an American country music duo composed of lead vocalist Wynonna Judd and her mother, Naomi Judd. The duo signed to RCA Nashville in 1983 and released six studio albums between then and 1991. #TheJudds were one of the most successful acts in country music history, winning five Grammy Awards for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and nine Country Music Association awards. They also charted more than twenty singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including fourteen that went to number one. After eight years as a duo, the Judds disbanded in 1991 after Naomi was diagnosed with Hepatitis C.
The Judds were known for their close mother-daughter bond and their powerful vocal harmonies. They often sang about traditional values and empathy for people engaged in everyday struggles. Their songs were often personal and emotional, and they often spoke about their own experiences in life.
The Judds were a major force in country music during the 1980s and early 1990s. They helped to popularize the genre and opened the door for other female country artists. They were also pioneers in the use of music videos, and their videos were often featured on MTV.
The Judds are considered one of the most successful country music duos of all time. They have sold over 20 million records worldwide and have won numerous awards. They are also members of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
#NaomiJudd died on April 30, 2022, at the age of 76. #WynonnaJudd continues to perform as a solo artist.
