Mystery – Babylon the Great – The Mother of Harlots

Babylon is further called the “Abominations of the Earth” and the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication. She was drunken with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.

Excellent scholars (true followers of Jesus) differ on the identity of Babylon. Some believe it is Rome (i.e., the Vatican), perhaps spiritually the United States, or actual Babylon (65 miles southeast of Bagdad).

Covering the Church of Thyatira (at the time of John), through the medieval age, and presently, we have (documented) historical facts but must come to our own conclusion. It is critical as Mystery Babylon will be the prophet of the “Beast” described in Revelation.
