Today, we will explore the critical role the media is meant to play in our society: as a vital check on government and corporations, committed to upholding the truth and presenting the facts. However, we must confront the stark reality of how far we have strayed from these principles.  Honestly, the media, whom have been entrusted with the pursuit of truth, has developed an unsettling hatred of it.

Journalism should prioritize confirming information through independent sources, reporting facts, disclosing biases, and presenting competing ideas. Yet, we face the problem of science being unquestioningly regarded as an infallible authority, controlled by government and corporations who manipulate the media. This has resulted in a centralized message across outlets, making it impossible for any thinking person to trust the media.

To combat this, we must do our own journalism. Applying a common sense test to news stories, seeking multiple sources, and questioning everything is essential. Exploring diverse media sources with different biases is crucial for obtaining a comprehensive perspective.
