Whisky.com reviews the Brugal 1888 Ron Gran Reserva. The Brugal 1888 Ron Gran Reserva takes its name from the year the distillery was founded. Jassil Villanueva is the first woman to hold the title of "Maestra Ronera" and is responsible for the Tasteof Brugal 1888. The rum spent up to eight years in former bourbon barrels and then again up to six years in former sherry barrels. The result is balanced with a slight sherry sweetness.
