The Longest Journey is a classic point-and-click adventure game developed by Funcom and released in 1999. The game follows the story of April Ryan, an 18-year-old art student living in the futuristic city of Newport.

April discovers that she is a "Shifter," a person with the ability to move between two parallel worlds: the magical Arcadia and the technology-driven Stark. She soon finds herself embroiled in a dangerous quest to save both worlds from destruction, as an ancient evil threatens to tear them apart.

As April travels through both worlds, she must solve puzzles, interact with a diverse cast of characters, and uncover the mysteries of her own identity. Along the way, she faces tough choices and moral dilemmas, as she tries to reconcile the conflicting values of the two worlds she inhabits.
