The easiest way to improve your hook #armwrestling
The easiest way to improve your hookThe easiest way to improve your hook.
One of the most common errors in hooking is the unnecessary giving away of pronation. Although a hook is classically known as a supinated position and a battle of wrist flexion and biceps, it is critical to understand that whichever athlete protects their pronation better while in a hook will have the high ground for the rotation battle.
Having the high ground for the rotation battle will mean your opponents hand, and in particular, their wrist flexion will fatigue faster than yours.
When you enter the hook, be consciously aware of keeping your pronation as high as possible. The stronger your opponents wrist flexion and centre table threat is, the harder this will be, but the reward of keeping your pronation higher than your opponents is 100% worth making it a priority off the go..
