I have own several Weber grills and to me they are still the greatest grills of all!!!! Charcoal is the way I cook and with this style grill I use alot of my cast iron cook ware also on it.

It will take abit of time to get this grill to season but rest asure I will get there. As to the quality of Weber grill Still the TOPS to me I do not just give out 5 stars for anything!!!!
I have owned the Performer for about three years now. By far the best grill I have ever used! Awesome for grilling and smoking. Using the snake method for smoking is great and once you figure out the vent settings the temp stays on point ALL DAY.
Since purchasing, my gas grill and offset smoker have not been used. I even put my gas grill at the curb recently as it was just taking up space. I have several friends who have BGE and Primo ceramic grills and I would challenge the Weber against them any day!
If you are thinking about buying this I would spend the extra $150 for the Deluxe version. I PROMISE the extra money is worth it for the larger side table.
The table on the standard Performer is a bit too small. Also, the Weber grill cover that can be purchased for the Performer is amazing. On previous grills I would have to replace the covers about once per year.
I still have the original Weber grill cover I bought three years ago and still to this day looks great, with no leaks! Weber makes a great product and now have a customer for life.
My next purchase will be a Summit.
I gifted this to my son for his BD. I've had Weber's before and so on the strength of that, I bought this for him. He absolutely loves it. He has about a 10 x 30 slab in the back of his apt in Brooklyn. The grill is the focal point of his slab.
