IFR Flight from South Florida to NYC in one day.

With my new IFR rating, we were able to fly from Lantana, FL to NYC in a single day. A couple of interesting experiences we encountered for the first time:

1. Completed the flight in a single day, which I was never able to before my IFR rating

2. We were in IMC for more than 1 hour during our first leg and the approach to KLHW

3. On the second leg, ATC totally changed my simple plan into a 15 way point entry into the Garmin 530W in flight. To my surprise, I was able to jot down the instructions without a mistake.

4. During my approach to Linden (KLDJ), ATC informed me that they are holding all departures from Newark International (KEWR) until I cancel my IFR plan. Speaking of pressure... Needless to say, I cancelled it quickly.
