"How-To" | Brining Herring For Salmon Fishing

Brining herring before fishing helps toughen the bait and gives it a more vibrant and shiny finish. If your herring is soft and mushy it will fall off the hook. If your bait is tough enough to take a few bites from a salmon before it fully commits to the bait you have a better chance of a hook up.
