Who's ready for some broodstock steelhead fishing?! With all the obstacles and adversity our steelhead populations face, hatcheries are a necessity to ensure a sustainable run of steelhead. Its apparent the best genetics possible for hatchery steelhead are the wild proponent hopefully being caught by the anglers. These fish are then taken to the hatchery to be integrated into the hatchery program. Oregon has been seeing great success with these programs as well as a lot of tribal rivers across Washington State. In this episode we're floating the river with Nick Popov looking for early wild winter steelhead to contribute to the broodstock program.
