Take a look at my Ping S57 Pitching Wedge. This club as shown sits at 47 Degrees of loft. I typically hit this wedge between 140-145 yards. That is typically much further than the average golfer who should hit their pitching wedge approximately 125 yards. But a lot of that has to do with how hard I swing my clubs.
