Trump investigations heat up as Meadows testifies,
second grand jury hears from witnesses in Florida.

As the Justice Department’s investigations into former President Donald Trump continue, two new factors have emerged.

Trump’s former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has testified before a federal grand jury, and a second grand jury has heard from witnesses as part of the investigation into Trump’s handling of classified documents, according to multiple reports.

It was not immediately clear which investigation Meadows testified about or when he testified, according to the reports. One federal investigation into Trump and his allies is focused on efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 race for the White House. The other is focused on Trump’s handling of classified documents at his Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago.
Trump has denied all wrongdoing.

A lawyer for Meadows, George Terwilliger, told The New York Times in a statement that “Without commenting on whether or not Mr. Meadows has testified before the grand jury or in any other proceeding, Mr. Meadows has maintained a commitment to tell the truth where he has a legal obligation to do so.”
