Torch vs Heat Gun: Which makes the best cells with silicone?

Whether to use a torch or a heat gun for your acrylic pour is a question I get all the time. Both are great at bringing out cell when using silicone in an acrylic pour.

I think the torch works better for big cells and for targeting exactly where the you want the cells to appear. However, burning the painting, is a real concern. Not to mention having an incendiary device in your craft room and that problems that could bring.

The heat gun is great for brining up a bunch of cells and for getting a uniform section of cells to come up. The down side is that heat guns push out air and can move the paint and they also all have chords.

In the end, a heating device is used in acrylic pour to help the silicone rise to the surface which is how cells are created.
