Cuba Gooding Jr. settles civil rape lawsuit, averting NYC trial

According to a court docket entry Tuesday, Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. and an anonymous woman who accused him of rape have “resolved the matter” before the civil lawsuit headed to trial. Sources told CNN the case fell apart last Friday when the judge ordered the accuser to reveal her identity. The woman claimed that Gooding raped her in a Manhattan hotel in 2013; the actor stated the interaction was consensual.
