The Mae Suai Reservoir and the scenic surroundings attract tourists and locals for recreational activities such as boating, fishing, and picnicking.

The Mae Suai Dam is situated in the Mae Suai District of Chiang Rai Province, in the northern part of Thailand. It is located approximately 65 kilometers northeast of Chiang Rai city. The dam forms a reservoir known as the Mae Suai Reservoir. The reservoir has a capacity of approximately 860 million cubic meters and covers an area of about 37 square kilometers.

The primary purpose of Mae Suai Dam is to generate electricity through hydroelectric power and has an installed capacity of 240 megawatts (MW). The dam's power station consists of four turbines, each with a capacity of 60 MW, which utilize the flow of water to generate electricity.
