THE JOURNEY OF FORGIVENESS HOW TO ASK FOR FORGIVENESS, FORGIVE YOURSELF, AND FORGIVE OTHERS.

PRAYER OF FORGIVENESS

My Lord and my God, in the infinite measure of your goodness, have mercy on me. By your mercy, cancel my sin. In your love as a Father, forgive my guilt and free me from the evil that I have committed. I acknowledge that I have sinned through my words, my actions, and also through my omissions. Prostrate before you, I plead with all my soul: give me the grace of a deeply repentant heart. You know everything, Lord. Nothing is hidden from you.

Enter into my innermost being, my God, and reveal to me where I stopped counting on you and became resistant to your love. Lord, I have been negligent, I have sinned and failed. Forgive me for abandoning you and distancing myself from you. Forgive me, my God, for all the times I acted without any trust in you, only driven by my selfish instincts. Forgive me for living tormented by fear instead of trusting that your love takes care of me.

I lay my sins at your feet, Lord Jesus. I confess my faults. I confess that I gave in and allowed these sins to dominate me. I repent from the depths of my soul for this. But now I implore you, because I can no longer bear this burden on me: free me, by the power of your holy redeeming blood.

Enter with your light into the dark areas of my life, the most destroyed and shameful ones, the ones I do not have the courage to show to anyone else. Reach with your mercy my emotional miseries, my disorders, my behavioral addictions, and traumas.

I withdraw all of this from the shadows where I hid it to place it under the light of your love. I know that you can heal me. I know that you can fix me. I know that you are already doing it for me. Lord Jesus, I renounce everything that prevents me from being united with you; I renounce these sins and renounce Satan who attracted and instigated me to commit them.

I want to detest everything that displeases you and no longer be deceived by diabolical suggestions. My trust is in the Blood of Jesus that redeemed me from all evil and freed me from the oppressive forces of hell. I cover myself with this holy blood to shield myself against the attacks of the devil who wants to distance me from God and ruin me.

And I want to forgive absolutely everyone, consciously or unconsciously, who in some way harmed me, made me suffer, and hindered my development, my plans, my future. Lord Jesus, give me courage and strength for this. I acknowledge that I need to free myself and reconcile with myself.

I renounce all negativity and pessimism, all destructive criticism that I make to myself. I now make the decision not to keep putting myself down with thoughts that only accuse and condemn me to discourage me. I accept myself as I am and the way I am, because that is exactly how God loves and accepts me.

Divine Holy Spirit, come to my aid and help me remember who I need to forgive and what painful situations I need to release forgiveness and receive healing from. I forgive my brothers and sisters. I forgive my husband and wife, I forgive my children, my grandparents, grandchildren, uncles, cousins, boyfriends, girlfriends, friends, neighbors, teachers, coworkers, bosses, and anyone who has passed through my life and caused me some kind of harm or damage. I firmly refuse to live my life conditioned by these resentments.

I ask my Heavenly Father for the grace to forgive all these people who have caused me suffering or harmed me or for any reason have caused me harm, even if I feel sad, hurt, and angry, Lord My God, help me to remove this disease from within me. Please, teach me to forgive. So be it.
