This beautiful place is located in the Bogdanovich Glacier on the northern slope of the Trans-Ili Alatau.

The Trans-Ili Alatau is a mountain range located in the northwest of the Tien Shan mountain system, on the border of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

It is the northernmost mountain range of Tian Shan, stretching for about 350 km with a maximum elevation of 4,973 m (Talgar Peak). The highest peak is Titov Peak, which is 3,850 m high.

The mountains are connected to a number of ranges that stretch through Central Asia and are characterized by their similar rock formations.

The name of the mountains was given by Russian geographer and traveler P.P. Semenov when he arrived at the picket Iliyskiy in 1856. The term "Alatau" refers to a kind of mountain.
