Transformers Rise of the Beasts - Voyager Optimus Prime Review

In this unboxing / review, we’ll be taking a detailed look at the Transformers Rise of the Beasts Voyager Class Optimus Prime.

Both modes are adequate, but the bot mode is superior. There is great attention to detail, but he could have benefitted from additional paint applications.

Articulation is very good except for the head. The head will only rotate; there’s no range of motion up/down or tilt.

Quality is about as perfect as figures can get in this price range. This should be the benchmark. Joints are tight, everything tabs in correctly, and there are no molding or paint issues.

However, I don’t think this figure is worth the MSRP of $35 USD. I picked this figure up at a local Walmart.

My conclusion – This Optimus Prime is an adequate figure while we wait for the release of the Studio Series version. You can confidently take this Prime into battle with Primal and the rest of the Maximal / Autobot forces against Scourge, Unicron, and the Decepticon / Terrocon army.
