The FDA Held Hearings 30 Years Ago on the Emergence of Violence & Suicide with Prozac and Did Nothing About It

Kim Witczak: "I learned the hard truth of how the highly conflicted drug approval process works in the US after the sudden death of my husband in an antidepressant induced suicide in 2003. He was prescribed Zoloft, the safe effective FDA approved SSRI off-label for insomnia.

Five weeks later, he took his own life.

No history of depression or any other mental illness. At the time, I had no idea that the FDA actually held hearings a decade earlier on the emergence of violence and suicide with Prozac and did nothing. My husband's death catapulted me into a world of drug safety. As my late husband always used to say, 'just follow the money.'

Over the past 20 years, I've had to connect the dots between Pharma and the regulatory, legislative, and the legal systems. Since then, I have frequently testified at numerous FDA advisory committees including the safety of the Covid-19 vaccines. In 2016, I was formally appointed to the, as Consumer Representative on the FDA."
