The Surprising Truth about Dice Odds & Payouts

In this video we take a deep dive into the game of Craps and the Dice odds and payouts of the different bets.

We highlight not only the best best bets but also the odds and payouts to avoid.

Here is a summary of the bets discussed:

Pass Line and Don't Pass Line: The Pass Line bet wins on a 7 or 11, loses on a 2, 3, or 12 on the come-out roll, and sets a point for subsequent rolls.
The Don't Pass Line bet is the opposite, winning on a 2 or 3 and losing on a 7 or 11 on the come-out roll.

Odds behind Bets: After the point is established, players can make additional bets called "Odds behind" bets, which pay true odds with no house edge. These bets are favorable because the probability of winning is higher than losing. The video uses the example of a point of 10, where a 7 is twice as likely to be rolled.

Come Bets and Don't Come Bets: These bets are similar to the Pass Line and Don't Pass Line bets but can be made during the game. They have the same odds and payouts as the corresponding line bets.

Field Bets: These bets are placed on the next roll and pay even money for a roll of 3, 4, 9, 10, or 11. A roll of 2 pays double, and a roll of 12 pays triple. However, the bet is lost if the roll is 5, 6, 7, or 8.

Place Bets: Place bets are made on specific numbers (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10) to be rolled before a 7. The odds and payouts for these bets differ based on the number chosen.

Buy Bets: Buy bets are similar to place bets but pay true odds. However, the casino charges a commission (vigorish) on these bets, typically 5%.

Lay Bets: Lay bets are the opposite of buy bets, where the player bets on a 7 to be rolled before a specific number. The payout is based on true odds but with a 5% commission.

Big 6 and Big 8 Bets: These bets are made on either a 6 or 8 to be rolled before a 7. However, they pay even money, whereas place bets on 6 or 8 offer better payouts.
