In droughts, water tanks can save you from getting livestock stuck in muddy ponds! When the water levels drop on livestock watering ponds, it can become extremely dangerous for livestock to drink from them. The freshly exposed mud from water levels dropping is the perfect recipe for getting an animal stuck. Water tanks prevent livestock from getting stuck and the animals perform better with clean water. A good livestock manager should never subject his livestock to wading in mud to get a drink, just don't do that!!
