New Proteins for Farm Animals: Eating Insects

The majority of specialists will attribute the growing issue of vector-borne illnesses to insects. However, in other regions of the world, these little insects are valued as a good and nutritious diet.
Animals cannot be harmed by what is beneficial to people. Chinese farmers are cultivating insects to make animal feed because of this. Nutritionists from the European research project PROteINSECT are currently looking at how European farmers may employ this protein-rich feed.
The benefits are immense: insects are inexpensive to produce and have a high nutritional value for animals like poultry, pigs, and fish. However, there are still a few scientific and cultural challenges to be resolved.
