The Secret to Selling is NOT Selling

The secret to selling is not selling. The secret to selling is providing. The secret to providing is knowing what to provide. That my friend is attributed to Todd Duncan's book. Called High Trust Selling. I picked up this book at a used bookstore. I browsed this section and jumped outta me, obviously with a topic.

How could you not grab that book? It sat in my nightstand. I finally got into it, and the biggest takeaway that I got from that particular section of the book, Todd Duncan, by the way, thank you, amazing book. Is the only way we can know what to provide is to ask questions, to understand people's needs, to understand their problems, to understand what's important to them.

And without that understanding of knowing what to provide, we are doing the wrong thing, which is just selling and speaking at people as opposed to a two-way conversation. I love reading.
