The Evil Within, known in Japan as PsychoBreak (サイコブレイク Saiko Bureiku?), is a survival horror video game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks. It was released worldwide in October 2014 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Plot

The story of the game takes place in the fictional city of Krimson City in the United States. After an emergency police call at Beacon Mental Hospital, veteran detective Sebastian Castellanos, his partner Joseph Oda and their team head to the scene to investigate. When they get there, they come across a post-massacre location: there they find practically all the patients, nurses and doctors dead. When checking the security cameras for analysis and in search of knowing what really happened in that place, they discover that something out of the ordinary and conventional reality has taken over the place and caused the massacre. Before even leaving the place, Sebastian is attacked by an unknown force, when he falls into an ambush and becomes unconscious. He wakes up in a totally distorted and perverse reality, hanging upside down, in a kind of human slaughterhouse. Upon regaining consciousness, Sebastian tries to leave the scene, but is chased by a sadist with a chainsaw. Now it will be up to Sebastian to seek answers and try to survive.
