​​The FDA plans to address a nationwide drug shortage in cancer treatments by importing the medication cisplatin, which will be distributed by a Canadian pharmaceutical company on a temporary basis. Starting Tuesday, healthcare providers will be able to order the 50-milligram vials of cisplatin, an injectable medication used in the treatment of various cancers including testicular, bladder, cervical, ovarian, lung, gastric, breast, and head and neck cancers.
