Heel, Toe, Face, Rotate ..

[Reflective & Contemplative Poem Collection] -
How we face differences of opinion and interact with each other or avoid …… well it’s an ongoing question!! We have much to learn, both about ourselves and each other. All part of the ‘dance of life’. So …. let’s move and learn a few new steps!

This poem was written on 9th January 2023. It will be part of a collection that I refer to as 'Reflective & Contemplative’ collection which contains ‘an Analytical and Pensive blend of observational ditties!

Poem wording -

HEEL, TOE, FACE, ROTATE

Heel to heel is fine – I have your back and you have mine!
However, it also draws on the image of those preparing for a dual
Or a stand-off, after one, having been cruel.

But for me, the preferred stance is, toe to toe.
Having ended the stand-off, willing to now know.
Faced human to human, ready to debate, open - to relate.
Willing to talk it out - and sharing in ‘lumen’.
Daring to show our shock, fear or vulnerabilities with grace.

Let the sparks fly and fall, right away, where they may.
Then, flaws accepted and dealt with, and grace in to stay.

Together, we may rotate in unison, with light at our backs.
Ready to face enemies, or any other, unwarranted attacks.
Happy to navigate together, with all who join in our orbit …
Of loving and giving, without furthering torment.

These skills awaiting, at present, may lay dormant.
Yet, one by one, we are learning this type of now being.
Slowly and tentatively, embracing this ‘new way to play’.
Leaving, after addressing, old styles of emoting.
This vision is one, I am now, fully promoting!

So, to recap – it’s:- Heel. Toe. Face. Rotate. Navigate.
I reckon I’ll refer to it as “The New Dance of Life”, Mate!
